Originally released in early 2004, "Rekindle" was the second Balbulus CD. The process of restoring old demo recordings for 2003's "Aspect : Redundant" had literally rekindled my motivation to create music, and this lead to the writing of new tracks, plus some reworked versions of previous tracks. These were interspersed with several short experimental interludes. In hindsight the whole album feels a little disjointed to me, but remains an important part of the Balbulus timeline.

In addition to a couple of audio samples lifted shamelessly from "Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers", the closing track "Gors Fawr" features some sublime Welsh bagpipes taken from the album "Pibau" by Ceri Rhys Matthews & Jonathan Shorland.

Shortly before the album was released, Balbulus became a live duo with the addition of Dan Johnson on bass.
